Richard McMahon from McMahon’s Lawn Turf and Maintenance
, through his initial business as both home & landscape maintenance
saw the opportunity to provide Canberra and Queanbeyan with a local,
independent voice within the turf industry.
Richard says “ people of Canberra need to know that a lawn
is still a viable option … even with water restrictions …
we want people to know that there are other varieties of grasses
available that suit Canberra that meet the demands of our changing
lifestyles and changing environmental factors.”
“We are dedicated to providing a service and a grass that
best suits the individual’s needs and circumstances …
we are not just about selling one specific grass … each one
has its merits…we have trialed them over the past 4 or so
years and can now offer 6 grasses we believe are best suited for
this region.”
McMahon’s Lawn Turf and Maintenance is the only
local business that provides a complete service – supplying
turf, laying turf and/or preparing your lawn turf area. Based at
Queanbeyan, Richard says "people can inspect the different
grasses 7 days a week before purchasing and we are happy to answer
questions, provide information and show people existing lawns in
their local suburb."
Although a small family business, McMahon’s Lawn Turf and
Maintenance is a proud supporter of various local community activities
and is a member of the Canberra Business Council. Richard says “this

Jerrabomberra Softball Association
McMahon's Lawn Turf and Maintenance is the proud sponsor of the
Jerrabomberra Softball Association Teeball 2 team and also coaches
this team of (7-10yr) terrific enthusiastic children.
 
Home & Leisure Show
McMahon’s Lawn Turf and Maintenance is an exhibitor at The
yearly Home & Leisure Show (on the 3rd weekend in October) held
at the Exhibition Park in Canberra.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to display and demonstrate,
the Toughest Turf in Town – the Conquest™ Couch.

McMahon's Lawn Turf and Maintenance is helping to educate young
people by providing a class set of newspapers for use as a teaching
resource at Karabar High School.

and have befriended a CareFlight Bear (6 in total) over the past
two years.
Child Safety Handbook
McMahon’s Lawn Turf and Maintenance proudly sponsored the
Child Safety Handbook - an awareness guide for children and parents
-produced by NSW Police Legacy.
McMahon's Lawn Turf and Maintenance were part of the team of experts
to sponsor the David Yound Garden Makeover, promoted and hosted
by 2CC and 2CA. Activity to finalise this garden makeover is still
in progress.
